What shapes can I crop to?
Circle (perfect ellipse), rounded square (20% corner radius) and sharp square. All use the centre of your image as the crop area.
Which part of the image is used?
The tool crops a centred square from your image first (removing any excess width or height), then applies the shape mask. Make sure the subject is near the centre of your photo.
What size should my profile picture be?
512×512 px works for most platforms. Instagram and LinkedIn display at 110 px but store at 320 px. Twitter/X uses 400 px. We recommend 512 px as a safe universal size.
Can I get a transparent background?
Yes — change the background colour to any hex value. For fully transparent output use a PNG editor after downloading, as this tool fills the background with the colour you choose (default white).
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The cropping runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.
